Kapa Haka
The Kapa Haka group at Pukekohe Intermediate is back for 2009.
This year we have a new tutor Arama Clark. Arama Clark also teaches other Kapa Haka groups at different schools in the Franklin area.
Each Thursday period 5 and 6 we have Kapa Haka practice. We have approximately fifty four students in the Kapa Haka group. The songs we have been learning are He hono re, Toi a mai and Te Kura o Pukekohe. Our practices have been motivational.
On Monday 23rd March the Kapa Haka group held a Powhiri for the Japanese exchange students from Hara Mura Junior High. We sang He hono re.
Soon we will be learning a new Waiata song to perform at the end of year Prize Giving, Assemblies and other occasions throughout the year. The Kapa Haka group will sing with pride and perform their best in their performances.
