“Ready to Compete”

Nine teams from Pukekohe Intermediate competed in the annual Coca Cola Netball Tournament
Nine teams representing Pukekohe Intermediate School took the courts for the Coca Cola Netball Tournament in Papakura.
The competition attracted schools from the wider Auckland area. Only school teams could enter the tournament. A lot of work went into the behind the scenes organization before the competition day. Players had to organize their own teams, and also had to provide their own set of bibs, a netball ball, an umpire and a manager, if team requirements were not met, the team would have not been able to attend the competition. Two buses were provided to transport the nine teams to Bruce Pulman Park in Papakura.
We played a total of 4-5 games in each grade. Teams were awarded points for a win, points for a loss, and points for a draw at our whole school assembly. Teams displayed sportsmanship and were competitive on the day.
