On Sunday 22nd of March, schools from the Franklin District participated in the Franklin Multi-Cultural Festival. This event was the major fund raiser for Puni School and celebrated diversity in our community. The festival was held at the Pukekohe Intermediate School field. Schools competed in a game of Ki-O-Rahi-An active game that is a combination of skills from Netball, Dodgeball, and tag. The games actual name means "Rob The Nest."
Approximately 8-10 schools participated in the Ki-O-Rahi games and 15-18 teams competed in the game. There were 6 Ki-O-Rahi fields.
There were a variety of food stalls from different cultures.
There were also a number of performances from local schools-Polynesian, Indian, Chinese Dragon dance, Kapa Haka, and adult performances.
We enjoyed the festival and we'd like to thank all the sponsors that supplied our teams with t-shirts.
