"We are Prepared"

The nerves are high and the training is intense. With high expectations, contributing New Zealand schools will participate in the Ultimate National AIMS tournament held in Tauranga in September. Pukekohe Intermediate will send teams for the following sports; Netball, Soccer, Hockey, Tennis and Swimming. Pukekohe Intermediate will also send individuals for Cross Country. The teams and individuals will be extremely competitive throughout this week long tournament. AIMS runs from Monday through till Thursday with prize giving on Friday. To accommodate and transport participants going to AIMS, it comes with a high expense.. Pukekohe Intermediate is currently fundraising to lower these costs. There has been sausage sizzles with many more to come, upcoming mufti days, raffles and AIMS children are currently selling Cadbury Chocolate and Natural Confectionery Lollies.
Children from Pukekohe Intermediate who are attending AIMS are consistently training hard and are determined to win. “ There is going to be tough competition” said Kelly Drew, who is going to AIMS for Tennis “ I have been to much bigger events overseas so I think I have a pretty good chance of winning”. “I’m pretty excited and I hope we do well throughout the tournament” quoted Deanna Ritchie, who is in the AIMS Netball team.
“ Hockey is a very competitive sport and we are determined to win!” says Cameron Milne a skilled player from the AIMS hockey team. So in September when the AIMS children leave, we will all be cheering them on. GO FOR GOLD PUKEKOHE INTERMEDIATE!
